ReplyDeleteApples would be my favourite as they are so versatile, available locally for a good chunk of the year and easy to keep.
Fresh peaches, apricots, and strawberries, hands down. Munch them like crazy. Also a lover of delicious ripe watermelon. Mini kiwis are a treasure; in salads or on their own. Those are my favs!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like New Zealand Kiwi Fruit, it beats fruit grown anywhere else , it is so good to just cut it in half then scoop it out and eat it fresh. Very versitile fresh or cooked. Love them
ReplyDeleteBananas! They may not be exciting, but they're very filling (for a fruit) and super easy to carry and eat. :-)
ReplyDeleteThere you go! From Paul L.
Pink Grapefruit ...it is so refreshing, not too sweet, very versitile ... salads, beverages of all sorts, has a fairly long shelf life, can toss into a lunch bag without any other packaging.
ReplyDeleteAtaulfo mangoes...sweet and delicious!
ReplyDeleteRasberry's Rock! Nothing better!!
ReplyDeleteBlueberries: simple, delicious, healthy and local
ReplyDeleteKale - great in salads, also great taste and texture when sauteed in olive oil and garlic. Low in calories, high in vitamins and calcium. Very healthy choice.

Its hard to pick just one.... I love beets...roasted then sliced or diced and added to a salad - delicious! In the spring, nothing beats fresh asparagus. I could eat it everyday.

ReplyDeleteAvocado hands down! I love their rich taste and buttery texture. Plus they taste good on just about anything. They're a vegetarian's best friend! M Pontellini
Let me recommend the thought-to-be-boring POTATO. It’s anything but…so versatile, hot cold, peeled or with skins on, baked, boiled, fried, barbecued, riced, diced, with butter, with cheese, with just a hint of spice. I could go on and on - maybe it’s my Irish heritage. If this wins, please donate the tickets to a worthy cause. M. Matthews
